UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II takes place Saturday night in Brazil.
What was once a highly anticipated card that was to have featured Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen, Jose Aldo, and Vitor Belfort, has turned into what many would consider a TUF finale.
There have been so many changes to the card that the UFC offered a full refund for all ticket holders who no longer wished to attend the fight.
As I mentioned here earlier in the week, I believe the UFC on FX card that takes place tonight is what MMA fans should be watching should they have to choose between the two. The PPV card tomorrow night is full of fighters who even the hardcore fans will have a tough time recognizing.
Granted, these fighters may end up putting on one helluva show, but I believe this will bring in the lowest PPV revenue since UFC 55.
Generally I will review at least the entire main card for you, but I have to be completely honest. I have never heard 18 of the 22 fighters on the fight card and I'm not going to pretend that I do.
As far as the Main Event between Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin goes, I won't be disappointed if either fighter wins. Both guys are what I would consider good guys of the sport. They always appear grateful for what the sport has done for them and continue to show class inside and outside of the Octagon.
Silva and Franklin are ways off from competing for a belt in any weight division. In their last five fights both Silva and Franklin are 2-3.
Many media outlets are predicting this fight to go to a decision. I don't think either fighter has the chin to sustain the punches that they are going to unleash on each other.
Franklin ended Chuck Liddell's career, and I think he's going to do the same to Wanderlei Silva.
Prediction: Rich Franklin via TKO (Round 1)

What are your thoughts on UFC 147? Is there a fight on the card other than the main event you are looking forward to?

Several of us hardcore fans in the MMA forum were discussing that we don't plan on buying the PPV. This one is going to do some horrible numbers. Id like to see the Wanderlei/Franklin fight and check out Werdum, but overall this card doesn't have the name recognition to generate very much interest out of me. This has no business being a PPV.

I'm ordering it tomorrow night. Haven't missed a show since UFC 52, and don't plan on starting anytime soon.
I'm actually looking forward to this one. There's very little star power, but based on the TUF Brazil season, it should produce some fun, quality fights.
Plus, the shows that people crap on the most usually end up being th most entertaining, which should make this the greatest show ever, because man are people crapping on this one.

The last Silva-Franklin fight was awesome. I know they're a bit older now, but you know they will put on a show. Plus TUF finale fights usually are awesome, because the guys want it so bad. It definitely is not the best card on paper, but it should be entertaining nonetheless. Plus, Werdum-Russow might be a good one.
